School of Information Engineering

The School of Information Engineering (SIE) was founded in January 7th, 2011, which currently consists of four Departments (Information Engineering, Biomedical Engineering, Mathematics and Computer, Physics). SIE also has an Experimental Center. At present, there are 72 faculties in the SIE, including 3 professors, 15 associate professors and 15 teaching assistants. In the education side, there are 3 undergraduates programs (information management and information systems profession, Biomedical Engineering and Information Resources Management) offered in SIE. It cultivates talents with medical knowledge, information technology, and clinical engineering technical knowledge. Until September of 2011, there are 1112 enrolled students in SIE.

SIE has been adhering to the principles of “depending on the society, facing the society, serving the society”, focusing on the cultivation of comprehensive quality for the students. The School always persists in communicating and collaborating with worldwide famous universities through international exchange student programs. Since 1996, school of medical laboratory has cooperated with Osaka College of Medical Technology and Osaka College of High Technology, Osaka Institute of Health and Welfare. Students exchanged to those colleges have graduated with certificates of attendance issued by the Japanese side. The two specialties (Information Management and Systems, Biomedical Engineering) are jointly offered by both sides. At home, it works with 40 companies in information construction and biomedical engineering. With the increasing investment from the country for information construction in hospitals, teaching and research will see a great leap in the near future.

★Information Management and Information System (4 years)

This major aims to cultivate advanced information talents who grasp medical information science and technology knowledge, related application abilities, and the theoretical knowledge of information organization as well as management. They can be qualified in work of medical information management, processing, analysis, organization, design and evaluation.

Curriclum:Introduction to the essentials of preclinical medicine, medical statistics, hospital management, hospital information system, advanced mathematics, C++ language programming, Windows program design, data structures and algorithms, the principle and application of database, computer network and communication, advanced software development, graphic design, web design, website design, Webpage multimedia technology.

★Information Resources Management(4 years)

This educational program prepares well-balanced students with all-around development engaging in various medical institutions at all levels of management, research units(handing,processing,design,analysis and evaluation of information).

Curriculum

The main course include Basic Medical Sciences, Information Science, Computer Science and Technology as the main subject. Other main course are Medical Statistics, Hospital Information Systems,C++Language Programming,Data Structures and Algorithms, Database Theory and Alpplication of Computer Networks and Communications, Advanced Software Development,Windows Programming, Graphic Design, Web Design, Advanced Network Programming.

★Biomedical Engineering (4 years)

This major aims to cultivate professional engineering and technical personnel who grasp the foundational knowledge of modern engineering technology and medical sciences. They are qualified for the work of research, application, management and technology development of medical instruments. The students need to grasp mathematics, physics, electron, computer sciences, foundational theories and skills for medical instruments; the students need to grasp collection, analysis and processing of medical signal; the students are qualified to use the knowledge to analyze and solve the problems.

Curriculum: Advanced mathematics, Physics, Introduction to Basic Medicine, Introduction to Clinic Medicine, circuit analysis, analog electronic circuits, digital electronic circuit, Program Design, computer Network and Application, the principle of single chip computer, Medical Sensor, medical signal processing, Principles of Medical Diagnosis Instruments, Processing of Medical Imaging.
