School of Humanities and Management was established in April 2006. The School has 4 departments (Psychology, Healthy Sociology, Management and Law, Health Economics and Health Insurance), 2 centers (Quality of life and Applied Psychology Research Center, Art Training Center) and 1 institute (Health Law and Policy Institute). There are 60 teacherss in this school. Currently, the School has 5 Bachelor's Degree programs: Public Administration (Health Management, health regulations and administration), Labor and Social Security (health insurance), Applied Psychology, Social Work and International Economics and Trade. The current enrollment is about 1,415 undergraduates. In recent years, the School has undertaken more than 53 research projects, including 5 national projects, 9 provincial ones and 39 municipal ones. The School has won the Second Award of Guangdong Provincial Teaching Achievement with 2 programs and 2 city hall awards as well. It has hosted 2012 Asian Chinese Quality of Life Symposium and fifth National Symposium on Quality Life. The faculty members have participated in several international conferences and exchanges.
Public Administration is the key discipline, with Public Utilities Management, Labor and Social Security as key specialties, which have been widely recognized by society. Applied Psychology and Social Work are featured specialties, focusing on training talents compounded with medical and cultural characteristics. It aims at the bio- psycho-social medical model. The School pays highly attention to the cultivation of students’ competitiveness. The School of Humanities and Management is trying very hard to enhance overall quality of the students through capability enhance program (Strengthening experimental teaching), "Five One" projects (strengths in sports, arts, English, research and statistical analysis, life culture and humanities), dual-degree training mode, and a variety of measures.
The School has 6 sessions of outstanding graduates working in many well-known enterprises and medical institutions since the first batch of recruitment in 2004. The overall situation for employment is good. Many graduates have become backbones in various industries, making outstanding contributions.

This major aims to cultivate students with basic knowledge of medicine, economics, management science, and modern management science. They have the ability to work in health relevant departments of the government, enterprises and institutions.

★Labor and Social Security (4 years)
This major aims to cultivate students to master the basic theory of economics, science of risk management and insurance, so that they have a certain medicine, pharmacy knowledge, being familiar with the basic theories, laws and policies in the fields of social security and health insurance, and health insurance to carry out medical insurance theoretical research and practical operation. Graduates will be qualified in the operation and management of the social security system as well as injured survey, underwriting, claims and other technical work of commercial insurance and social security system in government agencies, health care institutions and commercial insurance agencies.

★Applied Psychology (4 years)
This major aims to train professionals who have mastered the system of psychology, the basic theory of mental health, counseling and treatment, and been familiar with the basic theory and basic knowledge of modern medicine. These graduates can be qualified in counseling and psychotherapy, mental health education, human resource management, teaching and researching work in large and medium enterprises, the education system, the community, the justice system, institutions and health systems.
Curriculum: psychiatry, psychology history, social statistics, general psychology, psychometrics, developmental psychology, personality psychology, experimental psychology, psychological counseling and psychotherapy.
After graduation, students mainly work in large or medium size enterprises, health system, education system, community, justice system and institutions, engaging in psychological counseling and psychotherapy, mental health, education, human resource management, teaching and research work.
★Social Work(four years)
This major aims to train applied social expertise who master basic theory of social work, are familiar with sociology, psychology, and medicine knowledge, and follow basic social work ethics and philosophy of people-oriented, self-reliance, willing to sacrifice. They are proficient in social work methods and techniques to assist vulnerable individuals, families, communities, groups to get rid of mental, psychological and physical obstacles and difficulties. Graduates in this major can engage in social assistance and social security, social services and evaluation, social administration, disease prevention and medical rehabilitation, psychological and mental health counseling and other work in government departments, social service and welfare agencies, and health care institutions.

★International Economics and Trade(four years)
This major aims to train application-oriented talents who are familiar with WTO trade regulations in different countries and business processes, who can correctly understand and grasp the operating mechanism as well as the law of contemporary international economic and trade development, and who are able to skillfully use a foreign language. These graduates will be qualified in international trade and medicine accounting work in government health administrative departments, international investment and finance executive branches, medical and health institutions, and medical and health business units.
