On March 7, the signing ceremony of Songshan Lake Medical Engineering Integration Innovation Center and Medical Engineering Joint Innovation School co-constructed by Guangdong Medical University and Dongguan University of Technology(DGUT) was held at our university,which illustrates that the two local universities in Songshan Lake will collaborate closely in the field of the integration between medicine and engineering ,and take the lead in promoting “new medicine + new engineering” with a new model of intercollegiate cooperation in the Greater Bay Area.
Liu Wei, Deputy Secretary of the CPC Dongguan Municipal Committee , Ma Hongwei, President of DGUT, and Lu Jinghui, President of GDMU attended the ceremony and delivered a speech in turn. Vice President Zeng Zhirong and Yang Minlin signed the relevant contracts on behalf of the two universities.
Liu Wei warmly congratulates the two universities on the contract signing, and affirms the contributions made by the two universities to the high-quality development of Songshan Lake and Dongguan.He hopes that the two universities will take the initiative to fit into the construction of Songshan Lake Science City, which is an important part of the Greater Bay Area comprehensive national science center, and strengthen scientific &technological innovation, cultivate high-end talents who can persistently support and lead the development of science and innovation in the Greater Bay Area, so as to produce first-class achievements in order to serve the goal of enhancing the competitiveness and build a world-class Bay Area, thus take the lead in the future scientific and technological development, industrial upgrading and social progress.
Lu Jinghui expressed in his speech that the two universities have a solid foundation for the cooperation because of the adjacent campuses,the complementary disciplines, mutual supports between intellectual resources.Guangdong Medical University will always focus on serving the national strategic needs and the development of medical and health undertakings, grasp the opportunity of constructing the Greater Bay Area comprehensive national science center,regard serving Dongguan and making contribution to Songshan Lake as its own responsibility. Relying on Songshan Lake Medical and Engineering Integration Innovation Center & Joint Innovation School, as well as Dongguan Innovation Research Institute of GDMU, we will make great efforts to promote the development of intelligent medicine and comprehensive health in the future, actively build a university with first-class talents in new medicine and new engineering, and strive to become an important constructor for the high-level health undertakings in Dongguan and Songshan Lake, an important supporter for the innovative development of biomedicine and comprehensive health industry.
Ma Hongwei, President of DGUT,said that the signing ceremony opened a new prelude to the future development of the two universities. The two universities will work closely to deepen strategic cooperation comprehensively, give full play to the advantages of both sides in the fields of biomedicine and engineering, accelerate the formation of the chain collaboration in cutting-edge technological research , strive to cultivate high-level interdisciplinary innovation teams, research platforms and key laboratories, and construct a new and high-level collaborative education system for the integrated development of new engineering and new medical science.
Leaders from the two universities, Dongguan Science and Technology Bureau, the Administrative Committee of Songshan Lake Industrial Park also attended the ceremony.It is predicted that the two universities will joint hands to construct an innovative highland for the medicine and engineering integration both in Dongguan and the Greater Bay Area.
