When I opened the package and read the letter signed by the leader of GDMU word for word. I felt the pride and satisfaction of being a student of Guangdong Medical University and the deep sense of belonging and national pride came to my heart instantly.
Wang Qiao, a student of GDMU majoring in Drug Analysis, described her feeling when she got the care package from the university in Hungary. Wei Shouchao, a doctoral student of GDMU majoring in neurology in Liverpool of UK, also received the same care package. He said: “It's indeed a timely help for my university sent me the masks I need badly and I was touched by the letter in the package.” More than one month ago, Wei Shouchao actively contacted the Liverpool Overseas Chinese Association and jointly donated 100 KN95 masks and 500 bottles of alcohol disinfectant sprays to the Affiliated Hospital of GDMU.
It is reported that the epidemic of COVID-19 is becoming serious in some countries. The authority of GDMU attaches great importance to both the physical and mental health and safety of teachers and students outside Chinese Mainland. All relevant departments and schools are required to have better understanding of the actual needs and difficulties of teachers and students outside Chinese Mainland and measures which can express the humanistic care to them are encouraged.
In addition to having more contacts with teachers and students outside Chinese Mainland, and timely sharing epidemic prevention information and knowledge, recently, the university mailed care packages to teachers and students who stay in the United States, Britain, Australia, Singapore, Philippines and other countries as well as students in Hong Kong, Macao and Taiwan.
The care packages contain not only the epidemic prevention materials that they might need urgently, but also the university's consistent care and love for every member of GDMU. Mr. Lu Jinghui, Secretary of the Party Committee and President of GDMU, also said: “This sudden epidemic has disturbed our peaceful life, but in the face of this unprecedented great challenge, Let’s have more confidence and taking scientific prevention and control measures to fight for the epidemic together. Your health and safety are the greatest expectation of the university!”
